National Hurricane Center
The National Hurrican Center exists to save lives, mitigate property loss, and improve economic efficiency by issuing the best watches, warnings, forecasts and analyses of hazardous tropical weather, and by increasing understanding of these hazards through global outreach.
VA Department of Health
The VA Department of Health (VDH) works with federal, state and local partners to help Virginians stay healthier and safer. Their programs and services help prevent illness and injury, promote healthy places to live and work, provide education to help people make good health decisions and ensure that Virginia is prepared for emergencies.
Center for Disease Control
CDC works to protect public health and safety by providing information to enhance health decisions, and it promotes health through partnerships with state health departments and other organizations.
DHS
DHS's mission is to ensure that the United States is safe, secure, and resilient against terrorism and other hazards.They focus on five deparment missions: 1) Prevent terrorism and enhance security; 2) Secure and manage our borders; 3) Enforce and administer our immigration laws; 4) Safeguard and secure cyberspace; and 5) Ensure resilience to disasters.

FLU. gov
Flu.gov provides comprehensive government-wide information on seasonal, H1N1 (swine), H5N1 (bird) and pandemic influenza for the general public, health and emergency preparedness professionals, policy makers, government and business leaders, school systems, and local communities.
FEMA Ready Kids
Ready Kids® is a website to help parents and teachers educate children in grades 4-5 about emergencies and how they can help get their family prepared. Ready Kids is part of the Federal Emergency Management Agency's Ready campaign, a national public service advertising campaign designed to educate and empower Americans to prepare for and respond to natural disasters, potential terrorist attacks and other emergencies.
American Red Cross
Since 1881, The Red Cross is one of the U.S.'s premier emergency response organizations. As part of a worldwide movement that offers neutral humanitarian care to the victims of war, the American Red Cross distinguishes itself by also aiding victims of devastating natural disasters. In addition to domestic disaster relief, the ARC offers services in five other areas: community services that help the needy; support and comfort for military members and their families; the collection, processing and distribution of lifesaving blood and blood products; educational programs that promote health and safety; and international relief and development programs.
