Course: Basic Fire Academy # 1
CPR, First Aid, Firefighter Level I / II, Hazmat Awareness / Operations & Mayday Awareness / Operations

Time: Monday & Wednesday: 1830hrs – 2230hrs
Saturday & Sunday: 0800hrs – 1600hrs

Community Meeting Room Course
Description: An entry level course for new firefighters. Course consists of a combination of classroom study, scenarios and modular practical experiences that will prepare the firefighter to carry out most fire ground functions under the direct supervision of an officer or experienced firefighter. The scenarios are designed to train the student in realistic fire ground operations. Upon successful completion of the Academy; students will be certified at the Firefighter II level with Hazardous Material Operations and Mayday Operations.
Prerequisites: Students must be at least 16 years of age in order to complete all aspects of the course. Junior Firefighters must comply with all Junior Firefighters prerequisites as defined by Department of Labor and Industry standards.
